According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the Fourth of July is the most popular day for boating. • Riverside State Park - 9711 W. Charles Rd., Nine Mile Falls, WA 99026
  No matter what type of boating you enjoy,  Riverside State Park will accommodate it. This sprawling park covers 9,194 acres near Nine Mile Falls homes for sale, including 200,000 feet of shoreline along the Spokane and Little Spokane Rivers, with three launches and 120 feet of dock. Spokane River is open for all boating and water activities, including waterskiing and fishing, while Little Spokane River is reserved for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and rafts. Daily launch permits are $7, in addition to the $10 park entrance fee. Hours are 6:30 a.m. - dusk, seven days a week.
  
  
• Downtown Convention Center - 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201
  How many cities can boast a boat launch in the heart of downtown? If you work in the area, you can even grab a quick paddle on your lunch break. Opened in 2015, the Downtown Convention Center boat launch is right under the Division Street Bridge on the south side of the Spokane River. Kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards can be carried down via the six-foot-wide gravel path down to the water. Keep in mind that laws prohibit floating west of the Bridge. Parking is available at the Convention Center or in metered spots on Spokane Falls Blvd. There is no fee for use of the launch.
  
  
• Silver Lake - 1599 E. Grace St., Medical Lake, WA 99022
  Want a great place for a staycation? Look no further than Silver Lake. Just a 20-minute drive from Spokane and not far from Medical Lake homes for sale, this beautiful 500-acre body of water feels light years away from daily life. Silver Lake is widely regarded as heaven for trout fishing, but it's also popular for boating, sailing, wakeboarding, canoeing, and kayaking. The old concrete launch was replaced in 2009 with a new dual-lane launch, and a separate dock was added for shore fishing.
  
  
• Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area - 1008 Crest Dr., Coulee Dam, WA 99116
  When Grand Coulee Dam harnessed the powerful Columbia River, the result was the magnificent body of water at the center of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. If a 100,000-acre area can be called a "hidden gem," this is it. The lake itself is nearly 81,000 acres, and with 22 boat launches, there's plenty of room for boating. One of the more frequently-used boat launches is Fort Spokane, which is adjacent to the campgrounds of the same name. There is no park entrance fee, but a boat launch pass is required. The price is $8, and the pass is good for seven consecutive days. Park hours are sunrise to sunset daily.
  
  
• Q'emiln Park - 12201 W. Parkway Dr., Post Falls, ID 83854
  Located only minutes from Post Falls homes for sale, picturesque Q'emiln Park gets its name from the original Native American village. "Q'emiln" translates to "throat of the river," referring to the setting alongside the Spokane River. There is a $10 parking fee and a $30 boat launching fee. Hours are sunrise to midnight, seven days a week.

Sweet-Tart: Refreshing & Lemony Recipes for Summer

Summer is here, and it's time to celebrate all things lemony! These refreshing treats are sure to please at your next get-together.

Frozen Raspberry Yogurt Lemonade Pops

• 1 can (12 oz.) frozen lemonade concentrate
• 1 c. water
• 1 c. fresh raspberries
• 1/2 c. plain yogurt
• 10 ice pop molds

In a saucepan, heat lemonade concentrate & water over medium heat just until the concentrate is thawed. Remove from heat & cool. In a blender, place 3/4 c. of the cooled mixture, 1/2 c. of the raspberries, & 1/4 c. of the yogurt. Blend on medium until smooth. If you don't like the seeds, press this mixture through a small strainer to remove them. Divide the mixture among ice pop molds & freeze slightly.

Distribute the remaining raspberries in molds. Combine the remaining lemonade mixture & yogurt and spoon evenly into molds. Return to freezer until firm, about 4 hours.

Perfect Lemonade

• 1/3 c. sugar or 2/3 c. agave
• 1 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 7 c. water

Mix well. Serve over ice with a lemon wedge garnish.

Lemon-Lime Spritzer

• 1 liter lemon-lime soda
• 4 limes, cut into wedges
• frozen cherries
• fresh mint leaves

Mix ice, soda & sliced limes. Add cherries & garnish with mint leaves. Serve immediately.

Adult Lemonade

• 1 shot El Patron Tequila
• 1/4 shot Grand Marnier
• 4 oz. beer
• 4 oz. lemonade
• ice
• strawberries for garnish

Mix together and serve immediately

Strawberry Lemonade Icebox Pie

• 1 9" graham cracker pie crust
• 2/3 c. frozen lemonade concentrate
• 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
• 1 c. heavy whipping cream
• 3 Tbsp. powdered sugar
• 1 c. strawberries
• 3 Tbsp. honey
• 1 Tbsp. water

 In a blender or food processor, blend strawberries, honey, & water until pureed. Set aside. In a separate bowl, mix lemonade concentrate with sweetened condensed milk until combined. Set that aside, too.

With a mixer, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar & whip until it stiffens. Gently fold into lemonade mixture. (The pureed mixture is still kept separate.)

Pour half the strawberry puree on the bottom of the crust. Top with lemonade filling, smoothing evenly. Spoon on the remaining puree in evenly spaced dollops and swirl with a toothpick or knife. Freeze at least 6 hours before serving. Store leftovers in the freezer.
